Episode 65: The Meeting Resumes

「Now then, the break went on a bit long, but let’s resume.」

The President spoke as if to reset the atmosphere.

Long meeting tables were arranged in two rows, and the President and Senpai were at what you’d call the head of the table. I sat in a chair that had been brought out right next to Senpai.

「Well then, we will select the competition content for the student request slots. Please provide the list of survey results.」

Senpai, sitting next to me, started the proceedings.

She was dignified, sharp, and cool.

Senpai had been like this before, too, when she was giving a speech from the student council on the stage in the gymnasium.

Senpai dropped the sharp expression she had until then and showed me the soft smile she always shows me.

「That’s right. I believe it’s good in the sense that not only the selected members, but also the students watching can enjoy it.」

Only the Student Council President was laughing, though…

「Um, so this costume relay is okay?」

The officer who brought up the opinion asked everyone for confirmation while looking bewildered.

I didn’t know why they were bewildered, but…

「I’m in favor. Since it’s a request slot, I think it’s important that all students can enjoy it.」

Following Sara-senpai’s agreement with her soft expression, it seemed to be decided because everyone else agreed as well.

The meeting was impressive, with a contrasting scene of officers looking shocked from beginning to end and Senpai’s smile.

But it was decided quite easily.

I think it sounds fun too… though it probably wouldn’t work in that class.

And now, they were having a discussion that felt like a light exchange of notices.

「Vice President, about the suggestion box from the other day, I’ve categorized them as much as possible for now.」

「Thank you. Well then, I will do the final check.」

「…What’s with Satsukawa-san today?」

「…The conversation is going too smoothly, it’s scary.」

The President was smirking as usual. Is he plotting something?

The President began his closing remarks while looking around at everyone.

「Sorry, but I have a consultation for Takanashi-kun. I’d like everyone to listen because it concerns you too.」

It seemed I could finally hear the consultation in question.

But what does he mean by it concerning everyone?

「President, I’ll tell you beforehand, if the consultation for Takanashi-san is something I can’t overlook…」

Senpai warned the President while an ominous air drifted around her. Everyone seemed to be turning pale.

「I-it’s okay, so please don’t apply that kind of pressure. It’s scary, so I’ll just say the main point. Takanashi-kun, would you please join the student council?」

A word that was far too unexpected came from the Kaichou.

Join the student council? Me?

Sara-senpai also had a surprised look on her face, and the others looked like a pigeon hit by a pea shooter.

I somehow understood from watching her that Sara-senpai was probably busy.

She probably takes on work herself.
